Effect of Lintel Beam on Seismic Response of Reinforced Concrete Buildings with Semi-Interlocked and Unreinforced Brick Masonry Infills

The primary focus of this study is to evaluate the nonlinear response reinforced concrete (RC) frames with two types brick infills viz., unreinforced masonry infill (URM) and semi-interlocked (SIM) together lintel beams, subjected seismic loads. quantified in terms reduction factor base shear. Infill walls are modeled using double strut cyclic element. Nonlinear static adaptive pushover analysis performed finite element program SeismoStruct. (R) computed from performance for all models obtained. results showed that average R RC framed structure 1.31 times higher than frame infill. value bare beam found be less corresponding recommended Indian Standard Code. obtained highlight if impacts beams various scenarios considered then values used design buildings would underestimated (i.e., evaluated greater purpose).
